Pittsburgh is a very big sports town, and Pittsburgh also loves storiesabout an athlete with a big heart. Personally, I enjoy the stories about the athletes/role models who show their fans how to live. That's why my post topic this week is about Pittsburgh Steeler, Larry Ogunjobi.
Larry attended college at Charlotte, and he previously played for both the Browns and the Bengals. He plays defensive end for the Pittsburgh Steelers. But the thing that caught my attention was this - he just bought a new house for his parents! He bought them their dream home! On his Instagram page, he wrote this:
"To the man and woman that gave me and my sister the world; and asked for nothing in return. Here's a token of my appreciation! You two are more than deserving. Love you with everything I got. Congratulations, this is for you!"
These words are posted along with a picture of his parents in front of the house and Larry popping the cork on champagne. This touches my heart. Additionally, the words on his Instagram to describe himself read "More God, Less me." Athletes are fun to watch and admire, and I appreciate their hard work and devotion to their sports. Even more, however, I admire athletes who make a positive difference in the lives of others. Larry's dedication to thanking his family for all their support through the years so he could become a professional athlete is absolutely inspiring!. I hope he continues his good work and lessons to the young people who follow him. Paying back is parents is a real class act. Well done, Mr. Ogunjobi!
